Who we are

Fernix PDF is a Word to PDF conversion tool operated by Wrecking Ball Consulting LLC, based in Lago Vista, Texas. You can reach us at privacy@fernixpdf.com.

What we collect and why

Free tier users

When you convert a file, we log your IP address and the timestamp of the conversion. We use this information only to enforce the daily free tier limit of 10 conversions per day. We do not use your IP address for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

Pro subscribers

When you subscribe to Fernix PDF Pro, we collect and store your email address. We use it to send you a sign-in link so you can access Pro features in any browser. We do not send marketing emails. We do not share your email address with third parties except as described below.

Your files

Files you upload for conversion are never stored. Your document is converted in memory and immediately discarded. We have no copy of your files after conversion is complete.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site -- pages visited, session duration, and general location data at the country level. Google Analytics does not receive your uploaded files or email address. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, or any payment information. We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party.

Payments

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you subscribe, you enter your payment details directly into Stripe's secure interface. Fernix PDF never sees or stores your card number, billing address, or any other payment details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Third parties we work with

We use a small number of third-party services to operate Fernix PDF:

• Supabase stores IP addresses (free users) and email addresses (Pro subscribers) in a secured database with row-level security enabled.
• Resend delivers transactional emails -- specifically, sign-in links for Pro subscribers. No marketing emails are sent.
• Vercel hosts the Fernix PDF application. Your requests pass through Vercel's infrastructure.
• Google Analytics 4 provides anonymized usage analytics as described above.

None of these providers receive your uploaded files.

Data retention

IP address logs are retained for rate-limiting purposes. Pro subscriber email addresses are retained for as long as your subscription is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@fernixpdf.com.

Your rights

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to request access to the data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, and request deletion of your data. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@fernixpdf.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

Fernix PDF is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Fernix PDF after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
